Design Logic: Why a Hidden Maze?
Most real-world consequences are not visible at the moment a decision is made. Children are often expected to "think ahead" in environments where outcomes are delayed, abstract, or inconsistently enforced. Shock Maze externalizes this problem. By hiding the path and consequences, the activity recreates the cognitive conditions under which impulsive decisions usually occur—uncertainty, pressure, and incomplete information.
Core Conflict: Impulse vs. Foresight
Most children don't check before they choose. This activity structure exposes that habit by allowing them to experience the cost of moving too fast, following directions blindly, or choosing speed over awareness. Feeling the loss makes you more careful for next time.
